2025 Opening Day Dove Shoot Planned
The Yadkin Valley Wildlife Federation’s habitat committee is hard at work establishing a dove hunting field for the 2025 season. Our Chapter is offering shooting positions for Monday, September 1st, for $100. Youth hunters ages 12-17 can register for $20 and must be accompanied by a registered parent or legal guardian.
Myron Mitchell, a generous donor and supporter of our Chapter, is partnering with the YVWF on his family farm in Walnut Cove, NC, to once again host our dove hunt. Some of our members may recall the successful dove shoots from past years. We are offering limited hunting spots for reservation. Dove field hunting reservations will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.
Hunts will start and close in accordance with NC Wildlife Resource Commission regulations and/or the landowners/hunt managers direction. All participants must check-in prior to entering the dove field, be present for a safety briefing and must possess a valid hunting license with HIP Certification. All participants must complete the liability waiver form. Shooting positions will be assigned by a lottery drawing. Normally, hunters are paired at a shooting position.
